South of Perth in WA , the Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centres is managed with the welfare of the dolphins as the primary concern. As a non-profit community organisation, all proceeds from the operation of our services and facilities go towards maintaining the centre and our research, education and conservation programmes.
* Swim on the Wild Side Dolphin Swim Tour: An exhilarating experience held from November to April inclusive. Swim with the wild bottlenose dolphins in their own environment whilst guided by our experienced Marine Biologist and trained volunteers.
* Dolphin Eco Cruise: Operates daily. The tours are run by Naturaliste Charters,WA's most experienced marine mammal charter operator, and the only such operator that has tours running all year round.
* Interaction Zone: The zone is the area of shallow water located in front of the centre. Visitors are encouraged to enter up to waistdeep water where the dolphins can swim amongst the people. From there our volunteers will move some people into deeper water where the interaction experience is heightened by the activities of the dolphins swimming all around the people.
* Discovery Room: A fascinating series of interpretive panels about Koombana Bay's marine life and their environments. The jewel in the crown is a fully reconstructed dolphin skeleton surrounded by perspex pictorial displays of a dolphin's features. We have also introduced two aquaria housing local fish species.
